Last week we watched on as our VESDA system was installed, and security cameras finished. Today we are installing our Biometric access control system with logging and an audit trail....Mission Impossible style.

VESDA is a highly sensitive smoke detection device that can detect particles of smoke before they are visible to the human eye, even before we can smell them!

Our security camera's are IP based axis and mobotix. So all eyes are watching.

Combine this with our locks, which are the very latest in Biometric technology, and we have a highly secure Data Centre! Although we are yet to try it, they tell me that for a successful finger print read on our Biometric scanner, the finger can't be detached from the body and must be attached to a living person (with a pulse) in order to disengage the door locks.

I have to say this came as a relief to our staff as they had all sorts of movie scenes running through their heads!
