Quick Start Settings

 

Dialup Phone Number: 0198 331 246

Username Format: [username]@omni.net.au

Recieving Mail Server (POP3/IMAP): mail.omni.net.au

Sending Mail Server (SMTP): mail.omni.net.au

Sending Mail Port: 587 without SSL or 465 with SSL

Configuring Dialup on Windows XP

 

1. In the Start menu, select Control Panel (if you are in the Classic View, in the Start menu select Settings, and then select Control Panel)
2. Click Network and Internet Connections (if you are in the Classic View, go to the next step
3. Click Network Connections
4. On the left, click Create a new connection
5. Click Next >
6. Click the Connect to the Internet radio button
7. Click Next >
8. Click the Set up my connection manually radio button
9. Click Next >
10. Click the Connect using a dial-up modem radio button
11. Click Next >
12. In the ISP Name text box, type Omniconnect
13. Click Next >
14. In the Telephone number text box, enter 0198 331 246. Do not include the area code.

15. Click Next >
16. In the User name text box, type your Omniconnect username (such as janesmith)
17. In the Password text box, type your Omniconnect password
18. In the Confirm password text box, type your Omniconnect password again
19. Click Next >
20. Click the Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop check box so that it has a tick
21. Click Finish

 

Configuring Dialup on Windows 2000

 

1. On the desktop, double-click the My Computer icon
2. Double-click on the Control Panel icon
3. Double-click on the Network and Dial-up Connections icon
4. Double-click on the Make New Connection icon
5. Click Next >
6. Click the Dial-up to the Internet radio button
7. Click Next >
8. Click the I want to set up my Internet connection manually... radio button
9. Click Next >
10. Click the I connect through a phone line and a modem radio button
11. Click Next >
12. In the Telephone number text box, enter 0198 331 246. Do not include the area code.
13. Click the Use area code and dialing rules check box to remove the tick
14. Click Next >
15. In the User name text box, type your Omniconnect username (such as janesmith)
16. In the Password text box, type your Omniconnect password
17. Click Next >
18. In the Connection name text box, type Omniconnect
19. Click Next >
20. Click the No radio button
21. Click Next >
22. Click Finish

Configuring Dialup on Windows 98

 

1. Make sure that a Modem is installed
2. On the desktop, double-click the My Computer icon
3. Double-click on the Dial-up Networking icon
4. Double-click on the Make New Connection icon
5. In the Type a name for the connection you are dialing text box, type Omniconnect
6. Click Next >
7. In the Telephone number text box, enter 0198 331 246. Do not include the area code.
9. Click Next >
10. Click Finish
11. In the Dial-Up Networking window, right-click on the Omniconnect icon and select Properties
12. Click the Use area code and Dialing Properties check box to remove the tick
13. Click the Server Types tab
14. Click the Log on to network check box to remove the tick
15. Click the Enable software compression check box to remove the tick
16. Click the NetBEUI check box to remove the tick
17. Click the IPX/SPX Compatible check box to remove the tick
18. Click OK
19. Click on the Start menu then Settings, then Control Panel
20. Double click on 'Internet' or 'Internet Options'
21. Click on the Connections tab.
22. Click on the Settings button.
23. Enter your username in the User name box.
24. Enter your password in the Password box.
25. Click on OK, then Apply, then OK.
