Directions
for setting up Windows 98 to Dial Omniconnect
- Make sure that a Modem
is installed
- On the desktop, double-click
the My Computer icon
- Double-click on the Dial-up
Networking icon
- Double-click on the Make
New Connection icon
- In the Type a name for
the connection you are dialing text box, type
Omniconnect
- Click Next >
- In the Telephone
number text box, type the telephone
number of your local Omniconnect access point.
As supplied to you, these numbers are as follows:
- Metro: 86633700 – If Melbourne is
a local call
- Regional: 0198 333 142 - If Melbourne
is NOT a local call
- Click Next >
- Click Finish
- In the Dial-Up
Networking window, right-click on the
Omniconnect icon and select Properties
- Click the Use
area code and Dialing Properties check
box to remove the tick
- Click the Server
Types tab
- Click the Log
on to network check box to remove the
tick
- Click the Enable
software compression check box to remove
the tick
- Click the NetBEUI
check box to remove the tick
- Click the IPX/SPX
Compatible check box to remove the
tick
- Click OK
- Click on the
Start menu then Settings, then
Control Panel
- Double click on 'Internet'
or 'Internet Options'
- Click on the Connections
tab.
- Click on the Settings
button.
- Enter your username in
the User name box.
- Enter your password in
the Password box.
- Click on OK,
then Apply, then OK.
